Grief Café

A free, monthly gathering at The Beech House in Amersham — a gentle, welcoming space for conversation, connection and shared support around grief and life transitions. You're warmly welcome, whether you want to talk or simply sit with a cup of tea among people who understand.

What is a grief café?

A grief café isn't therapy, and it isn't a formal support group. It's exactly what it sounds like — people gathering over tea and coffee, in the company of others who know what loss feels like. Some people come to talk. Some come to listen. Some just come to be somewhere their grief doesn't need explaining.

There's no pressure to share, nothing to prepare, and nothing to sign up to. You can come once, or every month. Whatever you need it to be.

When and where

The café takes place monthly at The Beech House in Amersham — a relaxed, friendly café setting where we gather over tea and coffee. Dates are released in six-month blocks, so each gathering can be planned and held with care.

Upcoming dates:

  • 5th August 1-2.30pm

To hear when new dates are released, join the mailing list below or follow Gabrielle D Coaching on Facebook or Instagram.

Who it's for

Anyone living with loss — recent or long ago, a bereavement or another kind of loss entirely. You don't need to be "bad enough", and you don't need to be ready for anything more. If you're seeking community, understanding, or simply a space to feel less alone, this is for you.

If you'd like more support

Some people find the café is all they need. Others, in their own time, want something more personal — that's what grief coaching offers, one to one or walking in the Chilterns countryside. There's never any expectation to take that step, and the café will always be here either way.

Every two weeks I also send a short, thoughtful email exploring grief, healing and rebuilding life after loss. If that would help, the mailing list is a gentle place to start.
